100 Days of Bible Promises

A few weeks ago, a Facebook friend started posting photos of this very cool devotional book that she had started. It looked so interesting and I could tell that, in addition to having the "devotion" aspect, it was also something that was feeding her creative soul. After watching for a few days, I asked her what she was doing. She told me that she had joined a group that was doing this "100 Days of Bible Promises" book.

I watched a few more days before I found my way to Amazon and ordered one of these books for myself. (Actually, I ordered it on Friday and was pleasantly surprised that it was delivered on Sunday, in time for me to bring it with me on a 5 day long business trip.)

In an effort to be fully transparent, I must confess that too often when I am running short on time, the place that I "underachieve" is my time in the Word. I've been thinking about this a lot and realizing that in my effort to become "un-busy" I also need to put more emphasis on my personal time with God. I felt like this would be a great place to start.

I have to say that, though I am only 3 days in, I am thoroughly enjoying this. Each day, I take time to read all of the print scripture and message in the book, plus use my Bible app to look up and think about additional scripture that coincides with the subject of the day. I have also spent a little time on Pinterest looking at posts that others have share with their book. It has been interesting to see how other people interpret the message of the day and how they decorate their pages. Many use stickers, stamps, and washi tape. Some even us water colors. I am on the road, so I simply use my markers. My pages may not be as well decorated or as pretty as others, but writing the words has helped me really grasp the message and think about what I am writing and reading.

If you are looking for something new to try, especially if, like me, you are often away from home or just don't have the time to really express your creativity, consider this book! It is feeding my soul in more ways than one.

Full disclosure... part of my thought process in sharing my journaling is that I am making myself more accountable! If I share it everyday, I will work extra hard to make sure that I spend my time doing my study. Sometimes it just takes a little extra push to stay focused!
